So this band has been one of my favorite bands for this past year. I’ve known about them since ‘12 but it wasn’t till this year when I listen to their EP Modern Memoirs. Divided by Friday is the band, and this EP they have release a while ago is a must listen to. If you ever wonder to yourself, “man I wish old Fall Out Boy was still around.” Well honey if you like ‘infinity on high’, this Is the closest sound that I have found to it. With their catchy and melodic choruses to there retro hip electronic beats you might just have found your new Favorite band.

Thank you and hope you guys enjoy this beautiful weekend. :)

-TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY-

Everyone knows those bands that have transformed into something insane from starting off as a pathetic band practicing in their moms garage. This is our little way of expressing the story of those bands and the process of change toward the future of their music.

The first one we’ll be doing is on Attack Attack!. In 2007 Austin Carlile, Ricky Lortz, Andrew Whiting, Andrew Wetzel, and Nick White created this band. Lortz shortly left and was replaced by Johnny Franck who was the rhythm guitar and clean vocals. Following that, they had a keyboardist join the band, Caleb Shomo. In 2008 they released their first full length album ‘Someday Came Suddenly’. That album was what can be argued as post-hardcore, electronic, and metalcore. It was like disco made love to emo/hardcore scene and that’s what resulted. They created a reputation for themselves, a joke genre which fans called “Crabcore”. They called it that because the guitarist and bassist would crouch down real low, like a crab, and play their music. In 2010 Carlile left the band leaving the keyboardist Caleb Shomo to be the new frontman. They then released a self-titled album. The album was a lot heavier than the last, but didn’t get rid of the electronic. They just decided to go into a more “dub” electronic feel to their sound. 2011 Franck left, leaving them without their clean vocals. So once again Shomo took over that role as well. 2012 the band came out with their third full length, ‘This Means War’. This album got rid of the electronic dance-y and headed the band to a more chuggy hardcore style. They then got cut from Rise Records and the majority of the band departed to do other projects. They had Phil Druyor (I am Abomination) join as the front man at the end of 2012. They came out with the song ‘No Defeat’, which gave a whole different vibe from the band, like they we’re completely a new band.

In conclusion, I just find it interesting how bands can start sounding one way and soon at the end of their run sound like a completely different band. It’s all evolution of music when it all comes down to it. So I hope you enjoyed this very badly written post, if you guys know any other bands like this send us an idea or something. (: thanks for reading.
